Pure physics - sophisticated magnetic protection

As attractive as the design of DAMASKO watches is, physical magnetism can be a problem for watch movements. DAMASKO has answered the question of effective protection against magnetic fields with a well thought-out design: The shielding cage, which all DAMASKO models have, made of ice-hardened stainless steel and without a glass back, combines pure physics with a precise detailed solution and intelligent material technology, making DAMASKO timepieces absolutely suitable for everyday use. The inner workings of the DAMASKO are shielded by a protective casing consisting of the dial, movement ring and inner case back, a precisely fitting, completely closed case. The inner case acts like a Faraday cage. In combination with the shape of the case, the special alloy prevents magnetic fields from penetrating the movement and adversely affecting its accuracy. As standard, a mechanical non-magnetic watch will not stop if it is exposed to a magnetic field of 4,800 A/m and accordingly has a rate deviation of no more than 30 seconds per day. DAMASKO timepieces exceed this standard. The additional integrated shielding cage made of a special alloy provides protection against magnetism of up to 80,000 A/m. DAMASKO goes one step further with our models made of austenitic submarine steel and instrument steel. Due to the low magnetic permeability of these stainless steels, additional magnetic field protection is not necessary.
